Hello, my name is Carina Salazar. I have been a counselor in the Academic Advancement Program since October 2000. After completing my undergraduate degree in Sociology, I went on to complete a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with a Concentration in Higher Education. As a first generation college student and former transfer student myself, I understand the "college experience" for transfer students is different then that of freshmen. Transfer Students bring to the university an array of experiences making them a unique group. Time for transfer students is a definitely a commodity. It is imperative that you meet with a counselor at the beginning of your academic career at UCLA to make sure you take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the institution.
