Hello, prospective and current UCLA/AAP students (and all others)! I'm Alicia Contreras, a fourth-year, graduating senior double-majoring in Chicana/o Studies and American Literature and Culture and currently applying to graduate programs for English/American Literature. I was born and raised in the Central Coast, more specifically, Monterey County and Salinas Valley. For those of you who dont know or understand that little geographical spot up north, this means that the majority of my life was spent in a town with no stoplights and one under-stocked library. So coming to Los Angeles, one of the largest cities in the world, and to UCLA, a university with a population greater and more diverse than that of my hometown wasnt the easiest thing to do. I have, since my arrival, accumulated quite a collection of academic and emotional experiences here at UCLA and AAP (most of which are positive!). Believe it or not, those years taught me that everything is possible here. UCLA and AAP really are enchanted places. They are also inextricably bound. In addition to helping you understand UCLAs policies and procedures, AAP counseling can and will display UCLAs infinite plethora of opportunities. Having said this, please stop by if you have any questions/concerns or just need to chat! Were here for you!
