Alma Flores Psych Full-Time Counselors: Nixora Ferman

Hi everyone! My name is Alma Flores. I am a third year sociology major and education minor. I was born in Guadalajara, Mexico but grew up in sunny Santa Barbara, California. I love doing anything that involves the outdoors especially going to the beach. I also enjoy a good run and hike with my dog. I am the oldest of three kids and the first to attend college. This is my first year as a PLUS peer counselor and I look forward to meeting everyone. I have been involved with Research Rookies, Summer Research Opportunities Program, Bruin Corps, Cesar Chavez School, and Zoo Camp. In the future I would like to go to graduate school in education and eventually open up my own bilingual school. I know the challenges that UCLA poses to students are strenuous however I am a firm believer that with the right resources and support anyone can succeed here.
