The Center for Community College Partnerships (CCCP) develops and strengthens academic partnerships between UCLA and California community colleges. In addition, the Center works closely with UCLA's K-12 Outreach Programs, Undergraduate Admissions and Relations with Schools, and the Academic Advancement Program's Transfer Student Center to assist transfer students through all stages of University life. CCCP develops partnerships with community colleges to strengthen and diversify curriculum, create strong academic support programs and ultimately to increase the diversity of the transfer applicant pool.

To accomplish this, the Center:

  • Strengthens relationships with administrators, faculty, and staff at community colleges to establish strong lines of communication and cooperative student-based programs aimed at improving academic competitiveness and increasing the diversity of the applicant pool;
  • Works with Transfer Alliance Program (TAP) institutions, specifically to increase the diversity of the students who participate in TAP;
  • Works intensely with selected community college partners, particularly those with large underrepresented populations, to develop model academic and academic support programs that are replicable at all Transfer Alliance Program Institutions;
  • Integrates UCLA K-12 and community college outreach, recruitment and retention programs;
  • Facilitates stronger and more effective working relationships between community college programs and offices serving potential transfer students, particularly those from underrepresented groups, such as MESA, PUENTE, and EOP/S.
