General Information:
Please read before proceeding to Online Application below!!

UCLA's Center for Community College Partnerships (CCCP) is pleased to announce the Summer Intensive Transfer Experience (SITE) for prospective transfer students, as part of the CCCP Scholars Program. SITE allows students to engage in the discovery of university life in general and of UCLA in particular.

SITE is a residential program and completely FREE to you. If your goal is to attend a University of California campus, then you should spend a week at UCLA developing strong academic skills, meeting people who can assist you through the process and learning the skills required for an effective transfer experience.

SITE is a 5-day residential program that will teach students how to navigate the community college system; complete the appropriate coursework; and maximize their time in order to make a smooth, quick and successful transition to a University of California campus.

SITE also focuses on the resources available to students who traditionally do not transfer in high rates: 1st generation, low income, older, and/or underrepresented students. SITE also explores the role of higher education in our society.

Requirements: Students who would like to take advantage of this opportunity MUST:

  1. Have recently graduated from high school and plan to enroll in a community college in the fall OR students who have been at the community college who have not yet completed a transfer curriculum at the time of application.
  2. Show potential for transfer success and ability to benefit from the program.
  3. Be the first in their family to go to college; come from a low-income background; and/or be from an underserved community.
  4. Complete the ONLINE application, which includes:
    a. (1) Unofficial Transcripts;
    b. (2)Recommendation Form (from counselor, teacher, or community leader);
    c. (3) Fall Schedule; and
    d. (4) Essays - see below.
  5. Be available for the entire week of the program.
  6. Maintain eligibility in the CCCP Scholars Program, listed in the CCCP Scholars Program Page.

SITE Application:
As we have many students who would like to participate in SITE, we recommend that you apply as soon as possible.

Online Application Tips:

  1. You can fill out your application online instead of mailing/faxing a paper copy. You will need to complete the application in one session so you must have your written responses typed in your own word processor (i.e. MS WORD) and cut and paste them before starting an application. The questions are posted below and should be ONE paragraph for each.

  2. When you are filling out the online application, make sure NOT to use your browser's back and forward buttons.

  3. Print your confirmation. This is the only proof you will have that you have applied.

  4. If you need to make corrections, contact our office.

Questions:

  1. What is your academic goal and how will a community college education help you achieve it?

  2. Besides financial challenges, describe one specific challenge in achieving you academic goal.

  3. Define what diversity means to you, your community, and its importance.
