UCLA's Office of Summer Sessions & Special Programs along with the Center for Community College Partnerships would like to invite you to take a FREE course at UCLA through the Summer Transfer Enrichment Program (STEP). The courses are offered through the regular summer sessions course schedule. The program covers the cost of the course, registration fees, books and, if needed, some of the transportation expenses. This is a commuter program, NOT a residential program. For information, please contact our office.

Keep in mind that this is an academic program and the grade that you receive in the course will impact your UC Grade Point Average (GPA).

Requirements:

1. Demonstrate a strong academic record (completion of 30 units, minimum 2.8 gpa);
2. Have completed at least one transferrable English Composition course and/or be on track to complete a transferable math course;
3. Complete the application, which should include:
   a. Unofficial Transcripts;
   b. Recommendation Form (from counselor, teacher, or community leader);
   c. Fall Schedule ; and
   d. Essay (Response must be between 50 to 250 words, typed):
   * Provide us with three (3) goals (academic, career, personal, etc.) that you would like to accomplish and explain how STEP can help you achieve these goals;
   
4. Choose one of the courses from the this list in Session A;
5. Participate in a supplementary MANDATORY program every Tuesday and Thursday from 2pm to 6pm which will include mentorship, counseling, workshops, tutoring and study sessions;
6. Participate in an orientation on Monday June 19th from 1pm to 3pm;
7. Preference will be given to students who have participated in SITE and will apply to transfer Fall 2010 or later;
8. Maintain eligibility in the CCCP Scholars Program.
