AAP Research Rookies

Photo of Research Rookies and LTThe Academic Advancement Program (AAP) Research Rookies Program is exclusive to freshmen and sophomore students who are interested in the arts, humanities or social sciences. Under the guidance of a Graduate Mentor and sponsorship of a UCLA faculty member, selected participants attend workshops and information sessions that expose them to research opportunities and provide information about graduate school.

Research Rookies also explore a topic of their own interest and receive a $500 stipend upon successful completion in the spring quarter. Finally, Rookies present at the UCLA Westwind Conference, and have the opportunity to earn prizes from conference judges.
