What's up everybody!!!! My name is Erica Morales and I am a fifth year graduate student in the Sociology Ph.D. program here at UCLA. I was born and raised in the "Boogie Down" Bronx, and after attending college at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, I came out here for graduate school. I study race and ethnicity, gender, education and intergroup relations. As a result of my interests, I am passionate about social justice and striving for equitable access to resources for all underrepresented groups.
On my down time, I like to read for fun, exercise (when I can), hang out with friends and sleep (which I can never seem to get enough of). I am beginning to explore LA a little bit more even though I still miss New York pizza, bagels, pastries and public transportation.
Stop by the office and visit me! We can talk about graduate school in the social sciences, research, and teaching at the college level. If you love any of the above: school, ideas, research, reading, writing (and are a closet nerd as most of us are), graduate school might be for you. And, it's not as scary as you probably think it is. Come on down to the office and we'll figure it out!!!!
