Melinda Hernandez Peer Mentor - South Campus

El Monte, California, is my hometown. I am a first-generation college student and the first in my family to attend a UC. I am currently a second-year undergraduate soon to declare Physiology as my major (but I am technically "undeclared"). I am currently in the Program for Excellence in Education and Research in the Sciences (PEERS). I participated in the 2006 Freshmen Summer Program and the 2007 Neurospora Genetics & Genomics Summer Research Institute (NGGSRI). I am looking into continuing with research in pursuit of a Ph.D.

I love beads, and making bracelets, necklaces, earrings and such. I like going to concerts of any kind. I love laughing and getting to know people. Since you are reading this right now, you should seriously consider taking 3 steps to your left and walk right into the GMP office and CHAT with ME!!!!
