Awards Abound at the ADEA Annual Session in Phoenix.

Over the course of the 2009 ADEA Annual Session, a number of awards were given in various categories. Below is a listing of recipients of awards.

Dr. Charles N. Bertolami presented Presidential Citations to 10 leaders who have demonstrated exceptional service to ADEA.

Citations were presented to:

Charles J. Alexander, Ph.D., Associate Vice Provost for Student Diversity at the University of California, Los Angeles. As Dean for Student Affairs at the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry, Dr. Alexander created and implemented the first and largest postbaccalaureate program in dentistry for economically and educationally underserved populations.

Under his supervision, more than a hundred previously unsuccessful applicants gained admission to dental schools, and many have gone on to dental specialization.
