 Workshops

All PLUS students are required to attend quarterly Workshops given by UCLA staff and faculty. PLUS students must sign up and participate in a minimum of two academic and/or cultural Workshops for each quarter they are enrolled during their first year at UCLA. One of the two Workshops must be a PLUS-sponsored Workshop.

Attendance in a Workshop requires that students stay for the duration of the Workshop. Students must have an attendance verification form signed by the Workshop presenter and must be submitted to a Full-Time PLUS Counselor by the end of the 9th week of the quarter.

Subscribe to PLUS on MyUCLA: For updated PLUS workshops, events and other campus information; all PLUS students are required to Subscribe to PLUS on MyUCLA

Career Center: The Career Center provides a variety of workshops addressing majors, career exploration, graduate, medical, and law school requirements to mock interviews, internships, study abroad, etc. http://www.career.ucla.edu Click on Workshops.

Academics in the Commons @ Covel Commons: Academics in the Commons is a division of the College of Letters and Sciences that provides academic support via workshops ranging from stress management, majors, and study skills to internship opportunities, writing an "A" paper, etc. http://www.college.ucla.edu/up/aitc: Click on Workshops.

Sign up for workshops at http://my.ucla.edu and login to your personal My.Ucla account. Click the Services button at the top of the page then double click the desired Workshop to select day and time.

Center for Women and Men: The Center for Women and Men provides support groups and workshops on an array of topics varying from self defense, sexual assault, and health education to personal relationships, parenting and legal services. http://www.thecenter.ucla.edu: Click on Workshops.

Student Psychological Services (SPS): SPS offers a variety of workshops that vary from the art of sleeping, conflict and negotiating skills to mind & body among others. http://www.sps.ucla.edu/. Scroll down to Groups/Workshops Click on Complete List.

Student Health Services (SHS): SHS offers workshops ranging from body talk and nutrition basics to cardio do's and don'ts, strength training among others. http://www.studenthealth.ucla.edu/. Click on Health Education, then click on Quarterly Workshop Schedule and/or Click on SNAC & Nutrition (Student Nutrition [& Body Image] Action Committee), and then click on Workshops, classes, & activities.

Scholarship Resource Center (SRC): SRC offers a wide range of information which includes the following workshops: How to search for scholarships, the scholarship process, writing personal statements, and how to get letters of recommendations, among other vital information. http://www.college.ucla.edu/up/src: Scroll down and click on Workshops.
