Hello! My name is Mary Lee, and I am a third year Physiological Science major currently taking the pre-med route. I was enrolled in AAP/PLUS as a freshman and since then, I've grown to consider Campbell my on-campus home. My first two years as an undergrad have been incredible, in large part because of the people I've gotten to know through AAP programs and the opportunities that being an AAP student have brought me. I received tutoring for most of my lower division courses, and they have helped me get through some of the toughest academic quarters. I became a Math 3B (Calculus for Life Sciences) tutor after my own 3B tutor suggested I apply. I love that I'm now able to give back to the AAP community by replicating the impact that my tutors have had on my academic and social outlook. I've been tutoring Math 3B for a year and a half and have been the Math Supervisor for one year.
Apart from my dedication to my own course load and responsibilities at AAP, I am involved in several academic and extra-curricular programs on campus. I have done research in neuromuscular plasticity under the Student Research Program (SRP), and I am currently heading toward the realm of cardiology research. I'm an active member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Alpha Lambda Delta & Phi Eta Sigma, Golden Key International Honor Society, and the UCLA Honors Program. In addition, I'm a strong competitor and social chair of the UCLA Women's Rugby team. Ask me about the sport if youčre interested!
In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music (all sorts), singing, running along scenic routes, playing racquet ball at the John Wooden Center, relaxing with old friends, and meeting new people. You'll find that I'm a very easy person to talk to, so if you see me in the halls of Campbell, which is very likely, don't hesitate to say hello!
