About the Division of Undergraduate Education

The UCLA Division of Undergraduate Education serves as the campus-wide advocate for undergraduate education, providing leadership to achieve the highest quality of teaching and learning. It also promotes academic success for UCLA's diverse undergraduate population, ensuring options for all students to engage in a challenging array of educational opportunities, from foundational general education courses to advanced research and honors projects. The Division of Undergraduate Education is guided by five major goals:

  • Ensure standards of excellence across the undergraduate curriculum.

  • Create and administer innovative academic programs that foster interdisciplinary study.

  • Support a diverse population of undergraduate students in their pursuit of academic excellence.

  • Assist faculty and graduate student instructors in the improvement and assessment of teaching and learning.

  • Promote UCLA access and academic success for students across California’s increasingly diverse populations.
