JoAnn Damron-Rodriguez

Dr. Damron-Rodriguez is faculty at the University of California, Los Angeles. In 2007 she was awarded a UCLA Distinguished Teaching Award. She convenes the GE Cluster: Frontiers in Human Aging. She has contributed to excellence in social work with older adults by defining practice and professional standards at local, state, national, and international levels. She is currently Co-PI of a Archstone Foundation funded project for a statewide initiative in geriatric social work. She is appointed to the Department of Veteran Affairs Geriatrics and Gerontology Advisory Committee, which reports to Congress. She is a social work consultant to the US Department of Justice on the Olmstead Decision. She was vice-president of AGE-SW and received the Career Leadership Award for Geriatric Social Work. She is a Past- President of the California Council on Gerontology and Geriatrics (CCGG).
