About Us
The Center for Community Learning is the undergraduate curricular arm of the Chancellor’s “UCLA in LA” Initiative. We work closely with Professor Gilliam and the Center for Community Partnerships to create courses and research projects that address the concerns of Los Angeles County residents.
We regularly provide consultation to faculty for the creation of new service learning courses that require community-based work, or with the conversion of an existing course into a service learning course.
We can also assist with undergraduate internship courses for Juniors and Seniors, in any quarter (including the summer).
We can help with the identification of pre-screened community sites, and can provide curriculum assistance to guarantee a high-quality learning experience for you and your students.
Please visit the website of the National Service Learning Clearinghouse for information on service learning research, engaged scholarship, funding, conferences and much more in the "higher education" section. www.servicelearning.org.
