Farah Abdi

Farah AbdiHi, my name is Farah and I am currently a student in the M.P.H program in Epidemiology at the School of Public Health and in the M.A program in African Studies. I have a great interest in infectious disease, bioethics, and global health. I immigrated to the U.S at a young age and grew up in the Bay Area before later transferring to UC San Diego for undergrad. During my time at UC San Diego, I got a chance to work on research in both molecular genetics and refugee women’s health. From UC San Diego I received my B.S. in General Biology.

Over the course of my time in school I have discovered that you get the most out of your college experience if you identify your passions, however broad they may seem, and then give yourself a chance to explore them. Please come by and see me so that we can work on making your academic experience at UCLA reflect your unique interests so that it is as productive and enjoyable as possible!
