Declare or Change of Major/College
The College uses this petition for the following procedures:
- Declaring a Major
- Changing Majors
- Declaring a Double or Triple Major
- Changing to the UCLA College from the School of Nursing, the School of Engineering, the School of Arts & Architecture, or the School of Theater, Film and Television.
Pick up this petition at the undergraduate advising unit for the major you wish to declare, at your UCLA College advising unit or at any ASK Peer Counseling Location.
Declaring a Major or Changing a Major
Students should speak with the departmental advisor for the major they wish to enter regarding requirements and being admitted to the major.
Students currently under a double major who wish to drop one major should speak with an advisor in the major they wish to retain, who will then drop the second major for the student.
Changing to the UCLA College
Students wishing to enter the UCLA College under a particular major should fill out the Undergraduate Program Change Petition, have their departmental counselor approve the major, and then submit the petition to their counseling unit.
Students wishing to enter the UCLA College as undeclared or who are not yet admissible to a major and thus should enter as undeclared should fill out the Undergraduate Program Change Petition and submit it to their counseling unit.
Students leaving the School of Arts and Architecture must have the School of Arts and Architecture approve the Undergraduate Program Change Petition before submitting it to the UCLA College.
