Royce Dieckmann
Advises students in: English, Humanities and Education
I'm Royce Dieckmann, a graduate student in the English Department. As
an undergraduate, I transferred from a community college to UCLA
where I earned my B.A. in English. I couldn't stay away, and have
since earned my M.A. in English and am currently working on my
dissertation on the long road to the Ph.D.
As an undergraduate, I wanted to do it all: English, History, Art,
Music; I struggled a bit to find my focus, and I understand very well
how difficult choosing a major can be and would love to help you find
you discover your passion. Having been a transfer student, I also
understand the particular difficulties of acclimatizing to the
university and planning the major program, and can help you negotiate
the particular challenges you face.
Aside from my passion for books, I love going to see bands play live,
and I can often be found throughout the year rooting for the Bruins
at football, basketball, and soccer games.
Feel free to come and see me!
