Eva Durazo
Advises students in: Physiological Science, Biology, Public Health,
Physical Science and Life Science
Hi guys! My name is Eva Durazo and I’m a second year masters student at the School of Public Health
in the Community Health Sciences department. In 2003 I received my BS in Physiological Sciences, with
a minor in Spanish, from UCLA. I then headed back home to the San Francisco Bay Area and worked for
three years before deciding it was time to go back to school.
I started my undergraduate career as a pre-med student and had the pleasure of taking chemistry, physics,
and MANY other science courses here at UCLA. I have always been interested in health and thought becoming a
medical doctor was the best way to go. It wasn’t until my senior year that I really started to consider
public health. Working at a pharmaceutical company helped to confirm my new found passion for public health
and I could not be happier in the MPH program.
During my spare time, I like to relax at home, catch up on the home designer shows, and listen to my
favorite songs. You can also find me walking with my dog to the nearest coffee shop or hanging out in Santa
Monica. College is definitely a balancing act between school and play. Stop by anytime and we can discuss
classes, graduate school, and making your time in college the best possible. I’m excited to be working with
you, especially as you start finding your own paths here at UCLA.
