Bill Gordon
CA Coordinator
I have been navigating UCLA for the last eleven years of my life. A native of Ventura County, I originally came to
UCLA as a transfer student from Ventura College in Ventura, CA. I earned my BA in English from UCLA.
During my undergraduate career I discovered Egyptology and it has been one of my passions ever since. After
graduating with my BA, I entered the graduate program in the department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures.
I earned my MA in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures. Since that time I have been working on my PhD. My doctorate
study, which focuses on identity in Ancient Egypt, has taken me to Egypt many times for months on end.
I have counseled Chemistry and Biochemistry majors in the department of Chemistry and Biochemistry for eight years.
In addition to my counseling duties at the department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, I was a Counseling Assistant at
College Academic Counseling. As a Counseling Assistant I counseled Pre-Health, Physical Science, Life Science, English
and Pre-Law students. As recently as Spring 2002, I was a Teaching Assistant for History/Ancient Near East M104B, a
survey course on Ancient Egyptian Civilization.
Since Spring 2002, I have been the Counseling Assistant Coordinator and a Full-time Counselor at College Academic
Counseling (A-316 Murphy Hall). In addition to these duties, I am the webmaster and designer of the Near Eastern Languages
and Cultures department Egyptology website.
