VIRTUAL COUNSELING
Virtual Counseling is an advising chatroom hosted by the Counseling Assistants (CAs) of the UCLA College.
Drop by the chat room when you have general questions about academic policies. For example, if you want to know:
- How to add extra units to your study list
- When to drop an impacted course
- Where to find a listing of courses that satisfy a GE requirement
For more information about Virtual Counseling, read our
Virtual Counseling FAQ page.

ASK EMAIL
ASK Email is a service provided by ASK Peer Counselors who are extensively
trained to answer questions concerning the academic rules and regulations of the UCLA College. Please
remember that since ASK counselors are "peer" counselors, they do not have access to student records.
During the regular session (fall, winter, and spring quarters) emails are generally answered within a week of
receipt. This timeline varies, however, depending on staffing and the number of questions received.
Keep in mind that the difficulty of your question also affects how soon you'll receive your reply.
A simple question (drop deadlines, for example), can be answered within days, if not hours; more
complex question (applying EAP units to GE reqs., for example) require additional time to research.
ASK Email is available in a very limited capacity during summer session. See our
Email Factsheet for more information.
