Adding Classes
Through Friday of Week 2
During the first two weeks of classes, you may add classes on URSA.
If you have difficulty adding a class (due to questions about prerequisites, etc...), please
see the departmental counselor in the department
that offers the class.
Through Friday of Week 3
- During week three, you may still use URSA
to enroll in a class for which you have received a Permission To Enroll ( PTE ) number from the
instructor of the course.
- Alternately, you may file a "UCLA Enrollment Petition" (available for purchase from any UCLA student store)
with the signature of the instructor of the course that you wish to add. Submit the petition directly to the Office of
the Registrar (1113 Murphy Hall) for processing. You will be assessed a $5 per transaction on your BAR account.
Beginning Week 4
If you fail to add all your classes by Friday of third week, you will need to submit
a Late/Retroactive Add Petition to your
UCLA College advising unit in order to request an exception to College policy.
Please be aware that approval is not guaranteed. If approved, a late add will generate a
$20 fee per transaction. Retroactive adds, if approved, require a Blue Enrollment form
to process the study list change, and will generate a $35 fee per transaction once processed and a
notation indicating the date the course was added.
