Changing Sections

Until Friday of Week 2

1. Use URSA online to change lectures or discussion sections. PTEs are NOT required unless the class is closed or waitlisted. There is no fee.

Until Friday of Week 3

1. Use URSA online to change lectures or discussion sections. PTEs are required and there will be a $5 fee.

Week 4 through Week 6

1. Pick-up a blue enrollment form from your College advising unit.
2. List the section you would like to drop as well as the section you want to add.
3. Get the signature of the professors (or TAs) for both the lecture/section to be added and the lecture/section to be dropped
4. Take the enrollment form to your College advising unit where it can be approved while you wait.
5. Starting 5th week there will be a drop notation on your transcript for the section dropped. If it is an impacted course, there will be a notation beginning in the 3rd week.
6. Transactions during Week 4 will result in a $25 charge on your BAR account ($20 for the late add and $5 to drop)
7. Transactions starting Week 5 will result in a $40 charge on your BAR account ($20 for the late add and $20 for the late drop)

Week 7 through Week 10

1. Beginning Week 7, you will need to use both a blue enrollment form AND a Late Add petition to change sections or lectures. (If the course is an impacted class, use the pink impacted drop form as well.)
2. Fill out the blue enrollment form (follow steps 2 and 3 above) and the Late Add petition.
3. Take the enrollment form to your College advising unit where it can be approved while you wait.
4. There will be a notation on your transcript.
5. There will be a $40 charge on your BAR account ($20 for the late add and $20 for the late drop)

Starting Monday of Finals Week

1. You must file both a Late Add petition and a Retroactive Drop petition to request a section/lecture change at this point in the quarter. (If the course is an impacted class, use the Impacted Drop petition instead of the Retroactive Drop petition.)
2. If your petitions are approved, you WILL receive a notation on your transcript.
3. There will be a $70 charge on your BAR account ($35 for the retroactive add and $35 for the retroactive drop).
