From a Community College

After you have completed 105 quarter units, you will be allowed no more unit credit from coursework taken at a Community College. The 105 total quarter units include:

• all college level credit earned before entering UCLA
• all AP credit
• credit earned at UCLA
• credit earned at other college while attending UCLA (see Concurrent Enrollment)

You may still receive course credit and satisfy requirements with community college coursework without receiving unit credit.

From a 4-year College

While the College has no specific limit on the number of units that you may transfer from a 4-year institution, be sure to stay within the guidelines mandated by the Senior Residence requirement.

From an Education Abroad Program

From a non-UC Study Abroad Program

Transcripts must come from an accredited educational institution (either the host institution or a US institution through which the program is offered). Transcripts from a study abroad agency will not receive credit. Coursework must also be of an academic nature and must be itemized with each course listed separately. Please be aware that upper division credit cannot be guaranteed prior to the receipt of official transcripts. The application of transfer credit towards a major or minor requirement may therefore not be possible despite previous provisional departmental approval, and students should have an alternative program plan should a class not apply as expected. There is no limit to the number of units that may be transferred but students must be in compliance with Residence requirements.
 

Note:

Transfer coursework may receive credit if deemed admissable by Admissions. Please be aware that transfer work from some institutions may not be transferrable (e.g. if not on a transcript from an accredited educational institution) or may not receive specific upper division credit, and is therefore taken at your own risk.
