Upper Division Units
Sixty Upper Division units (approximately 15 courses)
are required for graduation for students entering UCLA starting in the
Fall of 1997. Upper Division courses are defined as those numbered from 100-199 at UCLA
or those that have the abbreviation UD next to the course title on your Degree Progress Report (DPR). Any course designated Upper Division will satisfy the requirement regardless of any other requirement it satisfies. Upper Division courses for your major, for example, will satisfy a significant portion of this requirement. You may overlap the upper division and GE requirements by taking the upper division courses clustered in the Humanities section on the GE list.
