Students who are graduating with College Honors are recognized for their academic achievements at the annual College Honors Commencement Ceremony held in Royce Hall. College Honors Cords are awarded at this event and each student is photographed with the Chancellor.
To ensure that you are able to enjoy this festive time and to
prevent any logistical mishaps, please make sure to do the following:
- Check your MyUCLA Notices on a daily basis for announcements with regard to any or all of the commencement ceremonies on campus.
- Read thoroughly all pertinent information about eligibility for graduation and procedures on ordering tickets online and picking up tickets from UCLA's Central Ticket Office (CTO) on the UCLA Commencement website. Especially for those with FERPA restrictions, please follow carefully all directions (and deadlines) on checking how your name will appear in the Commencement Brochure no later than May 1st.
- Submit the Honors Candidacy Form. (2009 deadline: April 3rd)
- Order tickets during the first day they become available. This is one way to check whether your Honors Candidacy has been approved and this will give you and the Honors office time to sort out and fix items
should there be any problems on your record. (2009 first day of ordering: April 28th)
- Pick up your tickets on the first day of release to give you and the Honors office time to resolve any ticketing issues should problems arise. (2009 first day of release: May 18th)
- On the day of the event, be at the venue in full regalia (don't forget your fourragere and the bobby pins for your cap) at the latest a full hour before the ceremony, as there are check-in procedures you will have to go through. (Official check-in time: 2:15pm, Royce Hall West Wing, on June 12, 2009)
Don't forget to congratulate yourself for reaching another milestone and to share the joy with everyone around who has supported you all the way!
