Enrollment Information for Restricted HC Courses
Fall 2007

The following Honors Collegium courses for Fall 2007 have restricted enrollment (identifed as "Res't: YES" on the Registrar's Schedule of Classes page). Except where noted below, enrollment for restricted courses is intended for 2nd Pass Enrollment . Please carefully read the instructions below and note the application deadlines for each course. For courses without application deadlines it is suggested that students contact the professors as soon as possible for best possible enrollment opportunity.

HC 23: Political Dissidence Today and in Ancient Greece: The Trial and Death of Socrates in Its Classical and Legal Context
Professor Frances Olsen, Law
Please submit to Prof. Olsen, by email, your name, year in school and major, career plans (if known), background (if any) in Greek or Classics, background (if any) in activism, background (if any) in law or legal procedures, reasons for wanting to take class, and anything else you would like to tell the professor.

HC 51: Music and Society
Professor Rogers Brubaker, Sociology
Please submit to Prof. Brubaker, by email, in an essay of no more than one page, an account of your intellectual background and of your interest in the course. Feel free to describe your musical background, the kinds of music you like, and the role music plays in your life. Please also include a statement about your ability to read music (some ability to read music is a prerequisite for taking the course), as well as your name, student ID, phone, email, class standing (fr., soph., jr. sr.), actual or anticipated major, and any other information you feel you would like the professor to know as long as it fits on the one page. HC 111: Stress and Coping

HC 144: Stigma: Anthropology of the Dangerous Other
Professor Peter Hammond, Anthropology
Minimum GPA of 3.5 required; it is preferred that students have taken a course in cultural anthropology. Students should email Professor Hammond expressing interest in the course. Please write "HC 144" in the subject line.
