College Honors students may receive the College Honors designation on the diploma by graduating
with at least a 3.5 GPA and completing one of the two plans described. Participating in College Honors does not necessarily mean you must take
extra courses in addition to those that are already required. By careful planning Honors coursework can be overlapped with major,
general education, and departmental honors requirements. Please remember that you must file a
College Honors
Candidacy form at A-311 Murphy Hall by the 2nd week of your final quarter to ensure recognition at commencement (2nd week of Spring quarter for Summer graduates and Fall Special Inclusion graduates).
Your requirements will vary according to the number of units you have at the time of your application to College Honors. All students
entering College Honors are automatically placed in Coursework Plan A. The Research/Thesis Plan B is the best
option for those who are also pursuing Departmental Honors in their major.
Students who entered UCLA as Freshmen and those who entered as Transfer Students
have different requirements. Please follow the appropriate link above to find out your requirements.
