Incoming Transfers
UCLA Admission letters will be mailed out to those accepted incoming Transfer Students beginning April. If you have been accepted to UCLA, congratulations! Everyone here at Honors Programs welcomes you to the UCLA community,
and we hope to meet you soon and work with you throughout your tenure at the university.
How to Qualify
All incoming Transfer Students must be admitted into the UCLA College of Letters & Science in order to qualify for
admission into the College Honors Program. (Students admitted to the following schools are not eligible for our program
at this time: School of Arts and Architecture, School of Theater, Film, and Television, School of Engineering and Applied
Sciences, and School of Nursing.)
In order to qualify for the College Honors you must have at least a 3.5 cumulative transfer GPA*. Please note that this is the GPA
that you reported on your UC application - not your current GPA.
*UCLA College Honors Program reserves the right to modify or adjust its admission requirements.
How to Apply
MyUCLA application: Log-on to MyUCLA and locate the "Honors Application" link. To do this, (1) look for "My Features" on the left side of the page, (2) look for "Academic," one of a number of items below "My Features," and (3) scroll down the alphabetically-arranged items under "Academic." You will find "Honors Application" directly under "General Catalog." MyUCLA will automatically verify your reported GPA through Admissions so you will only be prompted to "Submit" your application.
Application Deadlines
The deadline to apply online through MyUCLA is midnight of Sunday, June 1, 2008.
Due to unforeseen computer and network mishaps, we recommend that students apply well ahead of the posted deadline. Do not wait until the last minute to submit your application, as late applications will not be accepted. If you were admitted to
UCLA on the day of our application deadline or after our application deadline has passed, please inform our office immediately. Contact us by phone
(310) 825-1553 or by email if you encounter difficulties sending your
application (do not forget to state your UCLA ID number).
Check the status of your application
For your own records, print a copy of the verification page that appears immediately after you submit your application. The status of your application must indicate "Pending."
Check the results of your application
Results may be checked on MyUCLA (through "Honors Application") beginning Tuesday, July 1, 2008. Please print out a copy of your decision letter for your records.
Please note that in compliance with records privacy regulations, we do not discuss student records over the phone, nor do we disclose information about a student's status or records to any person outside of the student (including parents, counselors, teachers, and guardians).
Good luck and we hope to meet with you soon!
