She then earned her B.A. in Zoology (Anthropology minor) summa cum laude from Central Washington University.  She received her Ph.D. in Biology from UCLA.  In graduate school, she was a counseling assistant for the College of Letters and Science, and then became a full-time science counselor in the Academic Advancement Program.  In 1998, she became the director of the Undergraduate Research Center for the Sciences.  In 2003, when the URC merged with the Center for Academic and Research Excellence, she became director of the two merged centers: URC/CARE.  She supervises a staff of seven employees, four graduate students (research mentors) and several student workers.  Programs directly under her administration include CityLab, the Howard Hughes Research Scholars Program and the Undergraduate Research Scholars Program, among others.  Come in and make an appointment to see Audrey to find out how to get started in research! Or to apply for research funding! See you soon.
