Jill received an Honors B.S. in Biology from the University of Iowa in 2002 and performed her Honors thesis research in the laboratory of Dr. Daniel Eberl, Ph.D.,which involved several projects aimed at localizing a hearing mutation gene, beethoven, in Drosophila melanogaster. Following graduation she moved to Los Angeles and obtained a lab manager/technician position at UCLA in the laboratory of Dr. Michael Carey, Ph.D., and studied prostate cancer gene expression. Jill then joined the UCLA ACCESS graduate program in 2005 and is now a third year graduate student in the laboratory of Dr. Ken Bradley, Ph.D., within the Department of MIMG. She is currently studying a particular gene’s ability to confer sensitivity to Anthrax Lethal Toxin in vivo.
