Kat Averette received her BA in Philosophy, 2003, from University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and her BS in Microbiology, 2003, UCSB. She is currently a PhD candidate in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics at UCLA, with an expected completion date of 2008-2009. Kat's current research is in the Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics (MIMG) department, under Dr. Ken Bradley. Her research focuses on Uncovering the Mechanism of Anthrax Lethal Toxin-Induced Cell Death.
