Sonia joined URC/CARE Fall 2009 as Academic Administrator and currently serves as the Program Director for the Howard Hughes Undergraduate Research Program (HHURP), Undergraduate Research Fellows/Research Scholars/Research and Teaching Scholars Programs (URFP, URSP, URSTP), and the Biomedical Science Enrichment Program (BISEP). Additionally she will be co-teaching HC 101A with Reed Wilson Winter quarters. Sonia received her B.S. in Biology from CSU Pomona and her Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology from UC Riverside. Her postdoctoral studies looked at complex plant-insect interactions both at the ecological and molecular level. Additionally Sonia has lectured at UCR, CSU Pomona, University of Redlands and Riverside Community College.
