Conference Description
Undergraduate students who have completed one or more quarters of research in science, engineering or mathematics at UCLA are eligible to participate in the campus-wide Science Poster Day Tuesday, May 18, 2010 in Ackerman Grand Ballroom. Dean's Prizes are awarded for outstanding research. Students can attend workshops to assist them in putting together abstracts and posters.

Eligibility
Undergraduate students in the College who have completed one or more quarters (through spring quarter 2009) of research on a life, biomedical, engineering, mathematics or physical science project through SRP contracts, independent research classes (190, 199, 199H), or who volunteered in a research lab are eligible to participate.
Requirements for Deans' Prize nomination
- You must submit a personal statement outlining your research accomplishments and address how being involved in research has enhanced your undergraduate education (2 pages maximum) by Wednesday, April 15 to:

- Ask your faculty research sponsor to submit a letter of nomination (2 pages maximum) to Vice Provost Judith Smith. In the letter please specify that this is a nomination letter for the Dean's prize at Science Posters Day. Letters must be received by Monday, May 4 to:

judis@college.ucla.eduThe Dean's Prizes will be selected by faculty judges and announced at a ceremony following the poster presentations. The prizes will be based on the student's research accomplishments (outlined in the faculty letter and students' personal statements) and the poster presentation. Any student who participates in the Science Poster Day can be nominated for a "Dean's Prize Honoring Outstanding Undergraduate Researchers."
*Previous recipients of the Dean's Prize Award are not eligible.
